I am a retired Civil Servant. I have an Associates Degree in Electronics Technology and a Bachelors Degree in Biomedical Engineering. I was employed in the medical industry for thirty years, and my occupations included Medical Equipment Repairman, Clinical/Biomedical Engineer, Construction Project Management, Computer Systems Analyst, Computer Programmer, and Webmaster.
The occupations that I enjoyed the most were those that involved computers, and especially computer programming. Programming scratched that creative itch that none of the other jobs satisfied. Some of the languages I used were MUMPS (M), C++, Python, Pascal, JavaScript and HTML. Lately, I have enjoyed dabbling with Arduino and Raspberry Pi's.
My hobbies include woodworking, local history, genealogy, birding and some electronics. My woodworking website is "The Sawdust Post", which is where I post some of the projects, jigs and other odds and ends I've created over the years. It's really rewarding to research a design; draw it in SketchUp, and finally build it from scratch.
My wife and I enjoy exploring historical sites and taking day trips to visit local scenic and historical sites. Some of our adventures can be seen at our website "Meander and Gander".
